Privacy Policy
Introduction
TextCountify does not collect, store, or transmit any text you type into the character counter tool. Every character count, word count, sentence count, paragraph count, and reading time calculation happens entirely inside your own browser using client-side JavaScript. The text you paste into the tool never leaves your device.
This page explains the limited data we do process to keep the site running and serving ads, and the choices you have about that processing.
Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, the following are never sent to TextCountify servers and are never stored on our backend:
- The text you type or paste into the counter
- The character counts, word counts, or any other metrics generated from your text
- Personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or location (we never ask for it)
- Account credentials — TextCountify has no accounts, no signup form, and no login system
- Files you may reference while using the tool — none are uploaded because none are requested
Cookies and Analytics
TextCountify currently uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic patterns such as page views, session duration, and country-level geography. GA4 uses cookies to function. The cookies set by Google Analytics are governed by Google's privacy policy, not by TextCountify, and the data they collect is processed by Google, not by us. We see only aggregated, anonymized traffic reports through our own Google Analytics dashboard.
TextCountify does not currently serve ads and is not approved for or integrated with any advertising network. If we add Google AdSense or any other ad network in the future, this policy will be updated with details of the cookies those services set, the data they collect, and your opt-out choices. We will post a prominent notice on the homepage for at least 30 days before any advertising network becomes active.
You can control cookies directly in your browser settings, and most modern browsers allow you to block third-party cookies entirely. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Third-Party Services
The only third-party service that currently loads on TextCountify is:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate traffic patterns such as page views, session duration, and country-level geography. Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
No other third-party scripts, trackers, advertising networks, or social media pixels load on TextCountify. We do not use Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar, Mixpanel, or any similar session-replay or behavioral tracking tools. If this changes, we will update this section and post a notice on the homepage before the new service becomes active.
Local Storage — Recent Texts History
The Recent Texts feature stores your last five text sessions in your own browser's localStorage. This data lives on your device only. It is never transmitted to TextCountify servers, never read by any third-party script, and never leaves the browser you are currently using.
You can clear this history at any time by clicking the "Clear all" button directly below the Recent Texts list, or by clearing your browser's site data through your browser's settings. Clearing localStorage removes the history immediately and permanently.
Server Logs
Like most websites, the server that hosts TextCountify may automatically log standard request information such as IP address, request timestamp, and user agent string. These logs are used only for security and abuse prevention. They are not correlated with your text, your reading patterns, or any other TextCountify-specific data, because no such data is collected in the first place.
Children's Privacy
TextCountify does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, this policy applies equally to all visitors regardless of age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site (which would require going out of their way to email us), please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Because TextCountify does not collect personal data, traditional data subject rights such as access, correction, or deletion requests are not applicable — there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our end. Your text history lives in your browser and is under your control at all times. Clear it whenever you want.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, your local privacy regulations (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA) still apply to the data that Google Analytics may process. Those rights should be exercised directly with Google through the link above, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and revise the sections that have changed. We will not retroactively apply any new policy to data that was already processed under the previous policy without your explicit notice and consent.
For major changes — such as adding a new third-party service or changing how the Recent Texts feature stores data — we will post a prominent notice on the homepage for at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
