Founder, TextCountify | SEO Specialist & Social Media Manager
I've spent years managing content across social platforms and doing SEO for clients and my own projects. I built TextCountify to solve a problem I hit every single working day.
Why I Built This
My name is Saif ul Rehman. I spent years managing content across social media platforms and doing SEO work for clients and my own projects. Every single day I was switching between tabs — one tab to check the Twitter limit, another to count Instagram caption length, another to make sure my LinkedIn post would fit before the "see more" cutoff, another to verify my meta description was under 160 characters. It was annoying and it slowed me down.
The tools I found were either too simple — just a word counter, nothing else — or too cluttered with ads, popups, and account walls to be worth using daily. None of them checked every platform at once. None of them let me see how my text would actually be truncated when it exceeded a platform's limit. None of them kept my text private in the browser.
So I built TextCountify to solve this for myself. One tool that counts characters and words, shows me the remaining count for every major platform simultaneously, generates a live truncation preview the moment I exceed a limit, and never sends my text anywhere. It is the tool I wished existed when I was doing this work every day.
I had already proven the tool-site model works with mygagcalculator.com — a simple, focused, free utility that ranks well and gets used. TextCountify is the same idea applied to a problem I, Saif, personally hit every working day.
How I Built It
Three principles guided the design. They are non-negotiable.
Every feature is available to every visitor from the first visit. No signup wall, no premium tier, no "unlock more" prompt. Free for personal use, free for commercial use, free forever.
Your text never leaves your browser. All counting happens in client-side JavaScript. The Recent Texts history lives in your own localStorage, not on any server. Nothing is transmitted, nothing is stored remotely.
Every platform limit is verified against official platform documentation on a monthly cycle. When a platform changes a limit, the tool is updated as soon as the change is confirmed — usually within 24 hours.
What TextCountify Covers
The tool tracks character limits for twelve major platforms. Each limit shown is the verified technical maximum as of the date listed on the homepage; the visible display cutoff before the platform's "see more" prompt is also documented there.
Beyond platform limits, the tool also covers SEO and advertising character limits — meta descriptions, title tags, Google Ads headlines — and academic word count requirements including the Common App 650-word personal statement and federal appellate brief limits.
Get in Touch
